Judy Lynn Anderson (Schierman)
Aug. 8, 1945 - April 30, 2020
Judy died April 30, 2020, surrounded by her entire family in her home of 48 years in Jennings Lodge. Born Aug. 8, 1945 in Portland to Sylvan and Doris Schierman (Peterson), she was an only child. She attended Jefferson High School and briefly Oregon State University, where she was a member of Alpha Delta Pi sorority. It was there she met the love of her life, David Daniel Anderson. They had three beautiful kids.
Judy had a love of cats and had several during her lifetime. She enjoyed traveling, movies and just being or talking with family and friends. She will be remembered as a fierce fighter, having fought back multiple waves of cancer over 20 years.
Judy and Dave joined Oak Hills Presbyterian Church in 1972 and were active members. Judy held multiple positions in the church including secretary, women's committee president and admin assistant. She routinely helped at the King's Pantry.
She is survived by her son, Rick Anderson (and wife Carol, granddaughter Sierra Kyle and husband Jake and grandson Jordan Anderson); and two daughters, Tracy Ell (and granddaughter Austyn) and Jody Bannick (and husband Doug, grandson Tyler Anderson and great-grandson Jayce Anderson). Her husband David preceded her in death in 2017.
Judy volunteered at the church writing sympathy cards for others. This seems rather fitting: "May God grant you always…A sunbeam to warm you, a moonbeam to charm you, a sheltering Angel so nothing can harm you. Laughter to cheer you, faithful friends near you. And whenever you pray, Heaven to hear you."
A celebration of life will occur in late summer or early fall.

I remember Judy fondly from both Ockley Green and Jefferson. Above all else, I will remember her smile. It was kind and generous. May she continue to experience the joy she found in life.
