Barry loved sports and fittness.  An early riser, Barry daily ran 6-8 miles fellowed by a two hour working in his home gym consisting of rowing, cycling, weight training and weight lifting.  In the summer he added a nonstop hour of laps in the pool in the afternoons.  His commitment to fitness and good health set a example for all he encountered.  He was a member of the North Bay Officials Association and Southern Nevada Officials Association, officiating many high school and youth league football games.  He was a active member of his church.  Those who knew Barry enjoyed his calm demeanor and dry sence of humor.  He loved country music, football, cookies and ice cream.

Some of his favorite memories were working summers as a teenager on a farm and alongside of his grandfather.  Those years instilled a workethic that served Barry throughout his life.  Barry was a quiet man of inner strength and integrity and had a heart for helping others.
